![]() ![]() We got timed tickets for 4.30 and were there in plenty of time (from 4pm). ![]() It was the most horrendous experience for our young family. ![]() We've been to the top of the rock and the empire state building on previous trips to NYC so wanted to go to the observatory to do the full set. This was one of my favourite things i did whilst in New York and i would highly recommend to any first time visitors wanting to experience as much as they can whilst in New York! The only small issue i had was that you can’t take many clear pictures without having any glare from the glass but this may differ with the weather conditions and the quality of your phone/camera. The views from the observation level are breathtaking and you get a full 360° view of Manhattan, possibly the best place in New York to see the skyline. The iPads are really good, they show you all the surrounding landmarks in New York and show you a quick informational video about these places e.g. When you get to the observation level you can rent some virtual tour iPads for $15 each, i recommend only getting one. The elevator shoots up just over 100 floors in about 30 seconds and has electronic information and facts displayed in the elevator, makes you feel like you are looking out of the windows as you are going up. If you are going on your first trip to New York, the observatory is a must do! No queue’s at all and thorough security checks were done before you are allocated an elevator for your family/group of people. Me and my family went to the One World Observatory on 21st August at 11:30am. ![]()
